Playable String ensemble Music

Welcome to 'Playable Pieces', which is my way to acquaint you with my compositions and arrangements of playable string ensemble music.

As a professional musician and string teacher I have been frequently disappointed with the availability of music that was appropriate and playable for my students, especially in an ensemble setting.  The compositions found on this site are not only designed to aid the new string musician in technique, they are also musical!

I hope you will look around and find something that interests you. About a dozen of my compositions are included in this site now--that is about 10% of my output to date (as of October 2006), and there will be lots more when I learn to do it more thoroughly.

The vast majority of these are either my original compositions--a few arrangements of music old enough to be public domain. The scores and parts are in the form of 'masters' in my home, and I will send you your order (full score and two each of the instrumental parts) by mail as soon as I receive your check or money order. The scores and parts you receive will be perfectly clear, sharp, black on white, looking like "printed" music. You have my permission to make copies of instrumental parts (not scores) of all purchased music for your own use.
